Shopify

Connecting a Shopify store with a custom app access token.

Shopify connects with a custom app access token you create in your own Shopify admin. No Partner account, no app review.

Creating the token

  1. 1In Shopify admin, go to Settings → Apps and sales channels → Develop apps.
  2. 2Create an app, name it something like "Nectazo".
  3. 3Under Configuration, grant the Admin API scope read_products. Nothing else is needed.
  4. 4Install the app and reveal the Admin API access token.
Grant read_products and nothing more

Nectazo only reads your catalogue. A token with wider permissions is a larger problem if it ever leaks.

Connecting

  1. 1In Nectazo, open Settings → Integrations and find the store connection panel.
  2. 2Choose Shopify, enter your store URL and paste the access token.
  3. 3Nectazo checks the credentials before saving, so a typo fails while the form is still in front of you.

Your token is encrypted before storage and is never shown again — to change it you re-enter it.

Syncing

The first sync starts as soon as you connect. After that, catalogues re-sync automatically each day, and you can force one with Re-sync now.

Checking it worked

Open Products in the sidebar. Your catalogue should be listed, filterable by brand. Click any product to see its details as Nectazo holds them — if something looks wrong here, it will look wrong in an email.

Run into something?

Shopify stores vary a great deal in how they are set up. If a product, price or image is not coming through the way you expect, email support@nectazo.com with your store URL and we will look into it.
