Review request emails
Asking a buyer to review what they bought, as a designed email that links straight to the form.
Someone buys from your shop; a set time later, Nectazo emails them a designed message asking them to review what they bought — with each product linking straight to a review form that already knows which one it is. A review is worth more than most emails you will ever send: it is what the next customer reads before they buy, and what a search engine shows under your page. The whole point of this automation is to ask at the right moment and make saying yes take one click.
The reviews themselves are collected and shown by Nectazo Reviews, a free WordPress plugin — the review form lives on your own site, and the reviews stay there. Nectazo's part is the email: sending a designed one, to the right person, at the right time. The plugin can also send a plain-text request on its own, with no Nectazo account; this is the designed version of the same idea.
What you need first
- Your store connected, with orders flowing in — the same Send orders setting the abandoned cart automation uses. That is what lets a purchase start this.
- The Nectazo Reviews plugin installed, and a page on your site holding its
[nectazo_reviews_form target="url"]shortcode. That page is where the buyer writes the review; copy its web address, you will paste it into the email.
Setting it up
- 1Create an automation and choose the trigger Someone buys. Leave it on any product, or narrow it to one.
- 2Add a
Waitstep — this is your delay, long enough that the order has arrived and been used. Two weeks is a common choice. - 3Add a
Sendstep, open the email, and drag in the Ask for a review block. It shows each buyer the items from their own order, each with a Write a review button. - 4In that block, paste your review page's address into Review page URL. Every product button then points at it and carries the product with it, so the buyer lands on a form that already knows what they are reviewing.
- 5Design the rest of the email however you like, switch the automation from Draft to Active, and turn off the Reviews plugin's own request emails so nobody gets two.
Why send it from here rather than the plugin
The plugin's built-in email is plain text, and complete on its own. Sending the request from Nectazo instead gives you the email builder — your branding, images and layout — and the timing, the once-per-buyer and the unsubscribe all come from the automation, the same machinery every other automation uses. The reviews still come back to the plugin on your site; only the ask moves here.
Like every per-buyer block, the Ask for a review block shows nothing in a plain campaign or a test with no order — the items depend on who is receiving it. And it reaches only subscribed contacts: buying is not permission to be marketed to, so a buyer who is not on your list is never emailed. Send a test order through to see the real thing.
